A Thoughtful, Personalized Approach to Guitar Lessons
Lessons are focused on playing such styles as rock, funk, jazz, blues, pop, and related genres. Our work begins with an honest and accurate assessment of where you are as a player. This allows me to identify areas for growth and apply the right materials in the right order. Instruction includes building fundamental technique and skills; learning songs appropriate to your level; developing lead and rhythm skills; the theory behind everything; reading music notation; and exploring the history and language behind different musical styles and periods.
Why Private Lessons Make a Difference
Today, there is no shortage of guitar information available online. Videos, tutorials, and courses are everywhere, and many of them are excellent. What they cannot do, however, is sit down with you, listen to your playing, understand your goals, and recognize how you learn best.
That personal assessment is the missing piece.
In a private lesson, I’m able to see what’s really going on with your playing and guide you forward in a way that makes sense for you, your musical tastes, your learning tendencies, and your long-term goals. This creates a focused, supportive learning environment where progress feels natural and rewarding.
This is the difference between collecting information and truly learning how to play.
